There are three things that I can’t go without for Fashion Week: an everything bag, a portable charger, and something that makes me look photo-ready. The Ana mini Luar bag is my top pick. It fits everything and fits everything I need: phone, power bank, protein bar, lip gloss, headphones, keys and wallet. I don’t like carrying around a big bag or carrying a computer; it’s too much, and it always spoils the look. What I also like about Ana is that it initiates the conversation. Everyone has it and you are twinned with someone who has it or they want to know if they should take it. (The answer is yes.) In terms of beauty, I love Glossier’s Futuredew, especially in winter. A little pump before leaving the home or office, and you look cute and dewy instead of withered. It’s about finding life! However, if we’re being really honest, what I can’t live without is the Google Docs app on my phone—those program reviews won’t write themselves.
By the end of NYFW, you can feel pretty bogged down. A fast, reliable rejuvenation for me: aromatherapy. I love using this delicious perfume – which smells like coffee, lavender and patchouli – because of its soothing properties. Coffee and lavender have a pleasant calming effect (for this caffeine lover), and patchouli gives a feeling of refreshment and prolongs life. It’s like a great cup of espresso without the jitters. Increasingly, NYFW shows are scattered throughout neighborhoods — and sometimes counties. So you can spend more time commuting. That’s where these noise-canceling AirPods Max come into play. They have great noise cancellation features and my space gray pair adds a stylish, elegant touch to any outfit.
Shoes are something I love to splurge on, and my Staud Wally boots have been a regular in my wardrobe since last fall. I hate heels, but Wallys has the perfect 2-inch cat heel, making for an incredibly comfortable boot for walking (and running) around the city! The shoes are so good, I even got a pair for my mom. Speaking of running around, when I’m really hungry, I’ll reach for a Gomacro stick. They are the best tasting protein bars in my opinion and I will always keep one in my pocket. I bought a pair of The Row pleated pants as a gift for myself when I took the job at Vogue. They’re a great pair of work pants: harmless and comfortable enough for weekly use, but they make any shirt look more stylish. During Fashion Week, I definitely have a late morning or my curated outfit breaks down and I reach for these pants.
